In 2001, Arita established one of his first substantial non-Pokémon trading-card bodies of work through Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children. He illustrated demons, mythological creatures, equipment and items across multiple releases while continuing the digital-art and mobile-computing work documented through MdN-related publications and his personal archive.

Arita contributed illustrations to the Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Card Game published by Media Factory.

May — the Chapter 2 expansion 神王封印 (Shin'ō Fūin) and Carddass Booster 2 ハデスの闘争 (Hades no Tōsō) extended the card game with additional Arita illustrations.

Documented Arita cards from the early Devil Children releases include Nergal (LF-014), Stolas (LF-052), Feng Huang (LF-062), Shiva's Skull (LF-113), Virtue Sword (LF-116) and Aegis Shield (LF-119).

His Devil Children work covered character, demon, weapon and item imagery and continued through later releases into 2004.

A surviving publication visual identifies a MobilePress/WinGraphic issue from winter 2001, continuing the mobile and digital-painting documentation of this period.

Digital works dated 2001 in Arita's archive include Portrait, Paradise Tropical Tea, freedom and henry trees.
