Culdcept Artworks — Concept Design & Live Art
In 2017, Mitsuhiro Arita highlighted several different aspects of his career: concept design for theatrical animation, the publication of a major retrospective of his Culdcept work, an official Pokémon TCG signing appearance and an increasingly visible practice of live drawing. After approximately a year of concept-design work, Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari (Napping Princess) was released in Japan. During the same year, Arita presented MITSUHIRO ARITA CULDCEPT ARTWORKS, collecting 75 illustrations from a body of approximately one hundred cards he had created for the Culdcept series since 1997.

Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari (Napping Princess) was released in 2017.
Arita stated that he had worked on the animated film as a concept designer for approximately one year.
The project continued Arita's involvement in animation production following his concept-design and worldview-setting work for the Berserk: The Golden Age trilogy.

He also documented watercolor and outdoor sketching demonstrations during this period.
By 2017, Arita's Japanese cover work for the complete six-volume Wolves of the Beyond series was documented as a completed publishing project.

Arita also developed Lonely Owl, an original 32-page hardcover picture book presented through his independent publishing activities.
