High School — Programming & Enix

During his high-school years, Mitsuhiro Arita was primarily focused on computers and programming. After beginning to use a personal computer in 1982, programming became one of his main interests and he pursued studies oriented toward this field. While still a high-school student, Arita created a prototype for an adventure game and submitted it to Enix. The company showed interest in the project, leading him to work on its development with support from an Enix representative. Although the game was ultimately never commercially released, this experience became one of Arita's earliest known connections with professional video game development.

Programming had become one of Arita's main interests after he began using a personal computer in 1982.

During his high-school years, his studies and professional ambitions were oriented toward computers and programming rather than a career as an illustrator.

While still in high school, Arita created a prototype or mock-up for an adventure game.

He submitted the adventure game project to Enix.

Enix showed interest in his project and Arita worked on its development with support from a company representative.

The adventure game was ultimately never commercially released.

Although computers and programming occupied much of his attention, he continued drawing occasionally, including artwork requested by friends involved in dōjinshi.
