University — Engineering to Illustration

Partially Documented

Mitsuhiro Arita studied electronic engineering and computer science at Chubu University, with a strong focus on software engineering, and initially planned to become a software engineer. During his third year, his father invited him to join the family business after graduation. Rather than immediately following that path, Arita decided that he first wanted to attempt something entirely of his own choosing. Around the same period, a friend who had seen his drawings told him that it would be a waste if he stopped drawing. Arita later described this remark as an important turning point that encouraged him to consider pursuing illustration professionally.
